Do Korean online games have crack in them?

Gaming can be deadly, as we've seen from several game-related deaths - sometimes from homicides arising from in-game disputes, but more often from sheer exhaustion as gamers simply play themselves to death.
ABC Asia has a very brief report on a 38-year-old man in South Korea who collapsed while playing an online game in a PC baang. What makes me wonder is first, just what is in those online games? The report doesn't mention which game it was that led this man to his death. But also I wonder, why don't communities of gamers use the buddy-system to prevent this sort of thing? It's unusual, but not unheard of - in fact it's the reason that China, for example, has passed laws limiting gaming time to three hours at a stretch.
Will South Korea also try to pass some kinds of regulations?
